About us

Department of Respiratory Medicine, First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Thomayer University Hospital ranks one the largest pulmonary departments in the Czech Republic.

It provides complex preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic care, including rehabilitation for patients with entire spectrum of pulmonary diseases. It comprises large outpatient department, six bed wards with 120 beds, including Intensive care unit and Laboratory for sleep-disordered breathing.

The department serves as a Czech national centre for Interstitial lung processess (ILD) and for Multidrug resistant TB.

The facility provides pregradual, postgradual and postdoctoral education.
